A dramatic original production cel of Dio Brando from the climactic final episode of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (ジョジョの奇妙な冒険), produced by A.P.P.P. in 1994. Bloodied and battered from his battle with Jotaro Kujo, Dio fills nearly the entire cel in a striking full-body image that captures the iconic villain at one of his most vulnerable moments.
 
Dio Brando is one of the defining antagonists of Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and the 1993–1994 OVA remains a distinctive early animated interpretation of Stardust Crusaders. The hand-painted cel-era production, dramatic character designs, and dark atmosphere give artwork from the OVA a visual character quite different from later adaptations.
 
This cel is screen-matched to approximately 12:23 of Episode 13, “Dio’s ‘The World’ – Farewell, My Friends.” After Star Platinum stops Jotaro’s heart to deceive Dio, Dio moves in to sever Jotaro’s head. Polnareff suddenly attacks from above, driving Silver Chariot’s sword through Dio’s head. Jotaro then revives and Star Platinum lands its first solid direct blow to Dio, a devastating punch to the head that sends him crashing into the stairs.
 
The attack marks a dramatic turning point in the battle. Until this moment, Dio has seemed almost untouchable; now he is bloodied, badly injured, and visibly vulnerable. This cel captures the immediate aftermath as Dio struggles to regain his footing on unsteady legs before falling to his knees. The large, nearly full-body image makes his battered condition especially striking and captures a rare moment when the seemingly invincible Dio is clearly on the defensive.
 
The setup is identified as Cut 186 and consists of cel layers A19/B19. The original matching production douga is included, along with a matching copy background that recreates the dark stairway setting of the scene.
 
This is authentic studio-used production artwork created during the making of the 1994 OVA. The cel is an original hand-painted production cel, not a reproduction, limited-edition cel, print, or fan-made piece.
