Original, one-of-a-kind production cel used for the making of the classic Candy Candy anime series released in Japan in 1976 by Toei Studios. The Candy Candy anime is based on both the Japanese novel and manga. The series was featured in Nakayoshi magazine for four years and won the 1st Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo in 1977. Candy Candy reached international fame throughout the early and mid-1980s among children in places such as Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
