This is an original, one-of-a-kind Golden Boy anime cel for sale, used in the making of Lesson 2: “The Temptation of the Maiden.”
Created by Tatsuya Egawa and originally serialized in Super Jump magazine, Golden Boy was adapted into a six-episode OVA with character designs by Toshihiro Kawamoto—renowned for his work on Cowboy Bebop. A cult classic of 1990s anime, Golden Boy is beloved for its sharp humor, expressive animation, and unforgettable characters.
This production cel features a striking close-up of Kintaro as he watches Naoko undress in front of him. In this moment, he believes her to be completely innocent. Kawamoto’s composition here appears to pay homage to Edvard Munch’s iconic painting The Scream—a brilliant and expressive nod from one master artist to another.
