Up for sale is an original, one-of-a-kind production cel used for the making of the Opening Animation from Robot Carnival done by Otomo Katsuhiro in 1987.
 
Very cool image of the little boy who finds a small "coming soon" poster advertising the Robot Carnival. Cel is in very good condition, showing moderate traceline fade as expected in cels of this vintage. It has a staple holes and minor crease/dents at top. Comes with white paper with registration holes stuck to cel. Including the certificate of authenticity. Image size is about 9 inches by 6.75 inches. Come protected for shipping in a fresh polypropylene bag.
 
Robot Carnival has been compared to Disney's Fantasia in feeling and setup, in that it is a collection of nine shorts by several different directors, put together, and containing only music (with a few exceptions). The difference, as the title suggests, is that this feature focuses on robots. It's wrapped by a Katsuhiro Otomo (creator of Akira) opening and ending.
