Up for sale is an original, one-of-a-kind anime production cel used for the making of the Deprive short from Robot Carnival done by Hidetoshi Omori (Dunbine, Guyver, Gundam Seed, and the Animation Director for the Final Fantasy VII games).

An emotional image of the good guy getting hurt. This A6 cel comes with a non-matching hand-painted production background from this short. Cel and background are stuck and stapled together. The cel is in very good condition with some moderate traceline fade and minor dents/scratches as expected in cels of this vintage. Includes the certificate of authenticity. Image size is 6.5 inches by 11 inches and the overall size is 10 inches by 12.25 inches. Come protected for shipping in a fresh polypropylene bag.

Robot Carnival has been compared to Disney's Fantasia in feeling and setup, in that it is a collection of nine shorts by several different directors, put together, and containing only music (with a few exceptions). The difference, as the title suggests, is that this feature focuses on robots. It's wrapped by a Katsuhiro Otomo (creator of Akira) opening and ending. This 1980s anime classic was an inspiration for the Netflix hit show Love, Death + Robots.
