Robot Carnival - Deprive short (1987) – Original Production Cel
An explosive hero shot from the 1987 sci-fi anthology classic Robot Carnival, this original production cel captures the climactic impact moment from the Deprive short.
The scene freezes the instant the blue-skinned villainous robot absorbs a crushing punch from his human-form adversary. The dramatic angle, intense facial compression, and sweeping neon-green hair give the composition tremendous movement and weight. It is a quintessential late-1980s OVA action frame, bold linework and saturated paint intact.
Deprive was directed by Hidetoshi Omori, known for his work on Aura Battler Dunbine, Guyver, Gundam SEED, and as animation director for Final Fantasy VII projects. Robot Carnival itself is frequently compared to Fantasia in structure, a music-driven anthology of nine shorts, with opening and closing sequences overseen by Katsuhiro Otomo. Artwork from this era of high-budget experimental anime remains highly collectible among serious 1980s OVA collectors.
A powerful battle composition and a standout Robot Carnival example.
